Abstract: Introduction: Pilonidal sinus is epithelium lined tract, situated short distance behind the anus, containing hairs and unhealthy diseased granulation tissue. It is due to penetration of hairs through the skin into subcutaneous tissue. It occurs in sacral region between buttocks, umbilicus, axilla. It is common in 20 -30 years of age in males.
Aims & Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and complications of limberg flap procedure for pilonidal sinus at a tertiary care centre.
Methods: This is a prospective study with 30 patients who underwent limberg flap procedure between, June 2022 to June 2023 (1 year duration) at our institute & followed up for 3 month.
Results: All patients were successfully surgically managed. A Very minial postoperative pain noted in patients. Patients average hospital stay duration was for around 7 days. Complication like flap necrosis, wound infection, seroma formation noted. No recurrence was noted.
Conclusion: Limberg flap procedure is an effective and easy surgical procedure for pilonidal sinus with high patient satisfaction and complete cure and low postoperative complications.
