Introduction: Inguinal hernia repair is one of the most common operations of general surgery [1]. A femoral hernia is a rare, acquired condition, which has been reported in less than 5% of all abdominal wall hernias, with a female to male ratio of 4:1 [2].
Case Presentation: We are reporting a rare case of 32 years old female presented with complain of swelling in the left inguinal region for a duration of 2 years which was gradually increasing in size. Patient was investigated and diagnosed as a case of left femoral hernia. After PAC clearance patient was successfully operated for laparoscopic TAPP approach for femoral hernia. Post-operative period was uneventful. Patient was discharged with satisfactory condition.
Discussion: Early diagnosis and elective surgical treatment have an important role in hernia surgery. Laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair has developed in the recent years as a prominent method and nowadays it is performed much easier than the open method.1 Lower recurrence ratio was reported in laparoscopic procedures compared with open procedures for repair of femoral hernia [3].
Conclusion: Laparoscopic femoral hernia repair involves more time and specialized laparoscopic skills. The advantages are a lower recurrence rate and lower incidence of inguinodynia [2]. The technical details of laparoscopic hernia are discussed in the articles.
