Abstract:

Cystic lymphangioma is a rare malformative benign tumor of the lymphatic vessels with various localizations, most often cervico-facial, while thoracic and especially pleural localization is extremely rare. The clinical presentation is polymorphous. Diagnosis is evoked by imaging, but requires histological confirmation. The treatment of choice is surgical. Chemical sclerosis is an alternative for unresectable tumors. Here, we report a case of a 43-year-old female, admitted for encysted right pleurisy with pleuro-pulmonary tuberculosis still under anti-bacillary treatment after 4 months, operated on in our department in February 2025 with resection of a huge cystic formation and whose anatomopathological examination is in favor of a cystic lymphangioma with pleural localization.
